leader of Opposition in the State assembly Ajay Singh alleged that BJP government is working to weaken and cease institutions of Panchayati Raj; Singh was addressing Panch –Sarpanch conference at Maanpur in Umaria district on Monday.

Ajay Singh said that during the Congress regime power was decentralized and Panchayats were strengthened and their role in the development of rural areas was made strong.  He stated that the district Panchayat Chairman of Shahdol who belonged to BJP decided to join Congress after BJP’s negligent behavior towards Panchayats.

Raising point of ‘Fake Voters’ Ajay Singh said that the enquiry should be done meticulously and superficially as the fake voters which are massive in number are present in the voter list and the example was witnessed in Mungawali and Kolaras by-elections. The BJP does not have to be happy as the presence of fake voters in the state has been proved.

The state is still not free from malnutrition. In the Congress regime, Self Help Groups were assigned with distribution of nutritious meal but today contractors have been given control of health of the young generation and who are interested in their own interest rather than children affected by malnutrition.

The nexus between officials, contractors and ruling party is practicing corruption on the cost of children.

Meanwhile, in another event organised on the Martyrdom Day of tribal freedom fighter Birsa Munda Ajay Singh said that he was a fighter who laid his life and not only make the Adivasi Community but also the freedom movement proud.
