BJP giving special care to MLAs with Cong background

Staff Reporter

After a setback in the State Assembly, the Opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is in damage control mode and is giving special care to those MLAs who have background of  Congress.

Besides, the fuming party high command had first summoned state unit head Rakesh Singh while on Friday, the central leadership Narottam Mishra too have been asked to come down to New Delhi and furnish a reply.

The party high command is upset with the fact that when the state was facing a political tug of war, then why the Chief whip Narottam

Mishra had not issued a whip for the party members for the whole session.

The BJP was caught on the wrong foot when the Kamal Nath government suddenly forced a vote division on them on penal code bill.

Taking advantage of no whip issued by the party, two of its MLAs --Narayan Tripathi and Sharad Kol, voted in favour of the Kamal Nath government and the BJP due to unavailability of the whip could not disqualify the rebel

lawmakers.

After a meeting with local RSS functionaries, it was decided that party state head Rakesh SIngh and former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan would speak to the MLAs who could follow the footsteps of Kol and Tripathi.

The two leaders would also be speaking to the rebels--Narayan Tripathi and Sharad Kol.

The saffron party is yet to take an official call on the fate of two rebels who sided with Kamal Nath government in assembly, but sources claim that the party given the critical number game in assembly is planning to let them off the hook for the time being.
