BJP files code violation complaint against Congress

Staff Reporter

Madhya Pradesh Congress is using the links of Press Information Bureau (PIB) on its website that highlight the achievements of the Congress-led UPA Government at Centre. Alleging that this is violation of model code of conduct, the ruling BJP in the State has filed a complaint in this regard with the Election Commission.

On Tuesday, the BJP lodged a complaint of violation of model code of conduct against the Congress with the EC.

Former BJP state spokesman Vijesh lunawat in his complaint with the ECI told that the Madhya Pradesh unit of the Congress is openly flouting the model of conduct through its website www.mpcongress.org. The website is providing links of the PIB, showing central government run schemes. The Congress has been violating model code of conduct, he added.

He said that there are two links on the right side of the website titled as ‘Janta ki report – 2012 -13’ and ‘e – book 2004 -13’, these links show the report of PIB, Government of India. This report shows the pictures of Congress leaders and its president besides mentioning different schemes run by the union government, he added.

The BJP leader said that as the website is also a part of the election campaigning hence the Congress party is violating the model code of conduct by linking the website of the PIB with its site to promote and campaign for the Congress. Hence, the ECI should take cognizance of the issue and take appropriate and immediate action against the Congress, he added.
