BJP favours inquiry into deaths of Vyapam accused

Staff Reporter
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has demanded an inquiry into the deaths of accused in the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) scam gone infamous as VYAPAM.
A delegation of the BJP led by Madhya Pradesh BJP president and MP Nandkumar Singh Chouhan called on the Special Investigation Team (SIT) chairman Justice Chandresh Bhushan on Tuesday.
They demanded that the deaths of the accused in the VYAPAM scam should be done and truth be made public in these deaths so that the intrigue disinformation campaign run in this regard could be stopped and the misconception from the minds of the people be cleared.
Chouhan told SIT chairman, “A total of 25 persons died before the FIR in the case was registered on July 7, 2013. Of them eleven were having criminal backgrounds and they were involved in different criminal cases, of them 6 died in accidents while six died of diseases. Two committed suicide. Till now no one has made complaint of any criminal conspiracy in these deaths before the SIT and STF.”
Chouhan further said that though he has full faith in the judiciary but in order to clear the misconception regarding the deaths of the accused it is requested to conduct an enquiry and update the MP high Court about the same.
Senior minister of the state cabinet Narottam Mishra, BJP state vice president Vijesh lunawat and IT Cell convener Vikas Bondriya were other members of the delegation that called on the SIT chairman.
Notably, the Madhya Pradesh High Court had constituted SIT in November last year to monitor the ongoing probe into the MPPEB scam by nominating former deputy lokayukta Justice Chandresh Bhushan as chairman and retired Special Director General of CRPF Vijay Raman and former deputy director general, NIC, ClM Reddy as its members.
