leader of the Opposition in Madhya Pradesh Assembly Ajay Singh on Tuesday said that the newly-appointed BJP Vice-President and former Chief Minister Uma Bharti's pind-daan was performed by the BJP and she was exported to Uttar Pradesh by her party.
Reacting to Bharti's comments that the Congress' pind-daan would be performed after this year's Assembly polls in the State, Singh in a statement said even the BJP's seven generation would not be able to do so since ‘the Congress is the people's heartthrob and it had provided socio-economical, political security and also honour and equal rights to them’.
The Congress party has ensured employment to poor through its flagship scheme MNREGA, health through another flagship scheme NRHM, direct cash subsidy and now bringing in food security, BJP could never ever think on these lines of nation building as remain busy in dividing the people of the country, he added.
Singh said Bharti perhaps forgot that the BJP had insulted her and ousted from the party only a few years back.
“Bharti does not have respect neither for democracy nor for people as she did not go to Charkhari after winning from there and even not attended Uttar Pradesh's Assembly session after taking oath,” he pointed out.
He said that the leaders like Bharti use their image for inciting and playing with the sentiments of the people. They do not have anything to do with the people welfare and development of the country and that is why they believe only in pind-daan that is also their real psyche.
