President of MP Adivasi Vikas Parishad (Tribal Development Council) and former Union Minister Kantilal Bhuria on Monday condemned Modi Government’s countrywide Good Governance Day despite a ‘genocide’ of tribal people by militants in Assam.
Bhuria addressing mediapersons here said, “It was a shameful act of the Modi Government that it was holding celebrations, distributing sweets and used fire crackers on the day when dozens of tribal people were brutally killed. BJP Government at the centre does not express even sorrow over killing of tribals that is shameful.”
Bhuria alleged the genocide was carried out by the same Bodoland personals that supported the BJP during the lok Sabha elections. Similar “terrorist” outfits of Assam including All Bodo Students’ Union (ABSU), Bodoland People’s Front (BPF), National Democratic Front of Bodoland and others also supported the BJP and openly campaigned for the saffron party candidates in Tejpur and Mangaldoi. All these BJP supported elements were involved in the genocide of tribal’s, he added.
He alleged that it was the history of BJP that it did not hesitates from taking support of any terrorist outfit for its political gains whether it be Bodos in Assam, Naxalites in Chhattisgarh and Akali supported Babbar Khalsa in Punjab or recently the separatist Sajjad lone and Shabbir Shah Gilani in Kashmir.
The senior Congress leader said the BJP came to power by painting rosy pictures of good days to the people of country was overlooking the interests of poor, tribals and Harijans and was either closing the schemes run by the erstwhile Congress led UPA Government for these sections of society or was doing heavy cutting in budget of those schemes.
Bhuria, also a former State Congress president said the Modi led BJP Government was running schemes for the benefit of Adani, Ambani and other rich people, instead of doing good for poor, tribals and scheduled castes.
