The Bhopalites enjoyed the soothing moods of classical music here on Sunday at Shaheed Bhawan Auditorium. Two renowned youth icons in the world of classical music Sidharth Parashar and Tejas Vichurkar, gave splendid performances at an event ‘Naad Navodaya’.

The programme was organised by Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) under the horiozon series. Sidharth Parashar hails from Bhopal and Tejas Vichurkar belongs to Indore.

The programme began with the mesmerising classical singing by Sidharth. He is a young music composer, singer, musician and audiographer. “I have been into music from his childhood days and currently pursuing music as his profession,” says Sidharth.

He is well trained in Indian classical music by Pt. Siddharam Swami Korwar Student of Padma Bhushan Pt. Puttaraj Kavi Gawai and has strong command over electronic and pop music. His music style is versatile, ranging from traditional Indian music to new techno style.

The innovation he brings into his compositions makes him different from others composers. As he began singing, the audiences were awestruck to witness the programme. He wonderfully blended classical tunes into the rhythm of classical music which was loved by the audience.

The programme was followed by the spell-binding flute recital by a young flutist Tejas Vichurkar. While talking to The Pioneer, Tejas said, “I believe that if on artist brings innovations in his work, he or he can perform better. Moreover to enhance yourself, one needs to enhance your skills.”

Tejas has also performed at Youth festival of Bhopal and has received tremendous appreciation.

“Since my childhood I was much attached with music as my grandfather was also a classical musician from Gwalior Gharana. Surrounding with musical atmosphere at home I found music as one of my passions and soon I began learning flute,” he further added.

He began his performance with playing Raga Yaman an evening raga, followed by Taal Rupak, which was again a light-hearted rhythm.

He wrapped up his performance with Raga Desh. Tejas was accompanied by Akshay Jhadav on Tabla as they performed a jugalbandi as well.

The traditional musical eve was much enjoyed by the audience, Organisers are hoping that witnessing the youngsters playing classical live on stage will inspire many other youngsters to pursue classical music.
