Monday evening was spent in a 'Sufiyana Andaaz' by Bhopalites with a mesmerising Sufiyana Kathak.

Madhya Pradesh Urdu Academy, Sanskriti Parishad, Department of Culture organized a seminar and Sham-e-Sufiana on Sufi tradition in Urdu literature and culture on Monday at Ravindra Bhawan.

The programme was held in three sessions. The Seminar was organized in the first session which was presided over by eminent scholar Siraj Ajmali-Aligarh. While discussing Sufism and social harmony, he said that the role of Sufism in establishing harmony in the society is very important and especially the ideology of this society and the ideas and beliefs between the Sufi saints.

Mahtab Alam said that there is a need to adopt the teachings given by Sufi saints in this bad time. Sufi saints have always given the message of ending religious differences and spreading love among themselves.

In the second session, Nusrat Mehdi had  a talk with Padma Shri Muzaffar Ali about his interest in fine arts.

In the last session, under the direction of eminent film director Muzaffar Ali under Sham-e-Sufiyana, Huma, *Raqs-e-Junoon* Sufi Kathak, depicting a bird named Huma, was presented.

This was performed by Shinjini Kulkarni and her colleague Mannat Mishra in Dheeme Dheeme Prakash on a very beautiful stage.

This presentation was very special in that it beautifully depicted the concept of oneness of Indian philosophy especially Advaita in Sufiana Kathak. Huma, a bird under the illusion of love with its shadow, gradually reaches to Brahma, the Truth, and becomes one.  This is Sufism and this is the message of Advaita.
