A 28-year-old youth was arrested for sexually assaulting a 22-year-old married woman at village Maholi under Gunga police station area on Wednesday; victim was sexually assaulted at her house on Tuesday.
According to the police the victim was sexually assaulted by the accused laxman Gurjar when she was alone at her house in Maholi village on Tuesday and escaped the spot.
Police said that the accused was acquainted with the victim but never used to visit her house, but on Tuesday after he found that the victim’s husband was out for work he sexually assaulted her.
After the victim’s husband returned from work the victim reported the incident and later a complaint was lodged with the Gunga police.
In her complaint, the victim stated that she was alone after her husband left for work and while she was inside the house, accused came and asked for her husband but even after providing details of her husband the accused made forced entry in the house and sexually assaulted her and escaped the house. later, when her husband returned she reported the incident and they approached police to lodge a complaint.
Based on the complaint after the preliminary investigation, the police have registered a case under section 376 of the IPC and have started further investigation.
Police said that the accused was sent under judicial custody after he was produced in the district court. The accused is a resident of Barrai village and work as labour while the victim and her husband also work as labour.
