Bhopal Mayor Malti Rai visits women help desk URJA

Staff Reporter

I am very happy to see the new functioning of Women's Police Station and arrangements for URJA Women Help Desk, that proper efforts are being made by Bhopal Police Commissionerate for the safety of women,"  said Mayor Malti Rai.

Impressed by the various campaigns and schemes being run by the Bhopal Police Commissionerate for women's safety and child protection, Bhopal Mayor Malti Rai inspected the newly equipped women's police station this afternoon and the energy help desk, counseling room, waiting room etc.

She inspected the branches and expressed satisfaction after talking to the aggrieved women. During this, a presentation was given on the schemes and campaigns run by the Bhopal Police Commissionerate such as Abhiyan Sahyog, Asha, Srijan, Student Internship etc.

After the visit, Bhopal Mayor Malti Rai said that better work is being done in Bhopal Police Commissionerate in the direction of women's safety and child protection, which is highly exemplary and praiseworthy. I had not even imagined that the women's police station would be so clean, organized and equipped. The facilities of the visitors and the victims have been taken care of at the police station. The Bhopal Police Commissionerate has made much more arrangements than what should be the facilities for the people of Bhopal.

There should not be such indecency or harassment with anyone that they need to come to the women's police station. I found that even if some cases coming to the police station, the counselors of NGOs try to ensure that no family breaks up and they try to make mutual reconciliation by counseling.

After that, Mayor Rai interacted with the women staff and encouraged them. The officials of Bachpan, Uday, Sangini and Aarambh also met the mayor and shared information about all the activities and schemes being run jointly with the police under the efforts being made by the Bhopal police with the voluntary organisations.
