Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Bhopal admires the talent of the skillful artisans. The artisans of 31 States of the country who have come to Hunar Haat will get a lot of appreciation from the people of Bhopal. Chief Minister Chouhan appealed to the people of Bhopal to see the talent of the artists who have come to the city.

Chouhan inaugurated Hunar Haat organised at Lal Parade Ground. Union Minister for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Medical Education Minister Vishwas Sarang and Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Om Prakash Saklecha were also present on the occasion.

Artists and craftspersons from 31 states have brought their products to the Hunar Haat, the confluence of craft, cuisine and culture, organised by the Union Ministry of Minority Affairs. A total of 250 stalls have been put up at the Haat, of which 210 are of various products and 40 stalls are of different food items. 15 artisans of Madhya Pradesh are also participating in Hunar Haat.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a man of ideas. In the difficult times of Corona, he pledged for a Aatma-Nirbhar India. Inspired by this, work is going on in the state by developing a road map of Aatma-NirbharMadhya Pradesh. A Aatma-NirbharIndia cannot be possible without the Vocal for Local. The local products are not possible without the artisans. The Hunar Haat is a powerful means to provide opportunity to the artisans to display their art and make their products available to the market.

Only through such forums can they become Aatma-Nirbhar artisans and Aatma-Nirbhar craftspersons. It also provides an opportunity to promote the unity of the country, mutual interaction and provides the market to the artisans at the national level. With such efforts, the products of the artisans will be recognised on a global scale.

Chouhan also requested Union Minister for Minority Affairs Naqvi to organise Hunar Haat in any one city of Madhya Pradesh every year. He said that India has a rich tradition of handicrafts. When the western countries were in the initial stage in textile manufacturing, our artisans proved their skills by making Dhaka’s Malmal. The artisans have also helped the society a lot during the Corona period. Their contribution to the supply of masks and PPE kits was significant.

Chief Minister Chouhan thanked the Union Minister for Minority Affairs Naqvi for releasing Rs 358 crore to Madhya Pradesh and providing various scholarships to 1.61 lakh minority students.
