Nowadays Bhojpuri films are not far from the commercial Bollywood films, in terms of trend, dialogues and even presentation,” says a renowned Bhojpuri film director Ravi Sinha.

Ravi Sinha, who is known for his blockbuster Bhojpuri films like Zanjeer, Adalat, Hatkadi and many more was in the City of lakes to search for new talent. While in a candid talk with The Pioneer, Ravi Sinha talked about his upcoming film and also shared his journey in the Bhojpuri film industry and the changing trends.

“It is true that today the perceptions of audience have changed towards films. They want something to entertain them and relax them after a long hectic day. So I endeavour to make only commercial movies which are liked by the audiences of all age groups,” said Ravi. Notably, Ravi was here in the city of lakes on Saturday and Sunday to audition for his upcoming movie in Bhopal. “I have visited Bhopal earlier as well, and this is my seventh visit to this city. I am so influenced with the scenic beauty of this city that I decided to direct a movie here.” Elaborating more about it Ravi said, “When I decided to direct a movie in city of lakes then I also thought why not to give a chance to the talented artistes of the city in Bhojpuri film. This would be an opportunity for the artists to act in a different film with a different concept. This might open the doors of success for them may be for Bollywood movies,”

Ravi added.

While expressing his deep thoughts about the kind of actor or actress he said, “Well, I am looking totally for talent, else other things can be managed easily. May it be language or may it be other criteria, but being an artist, talent is pretty important.”

As he was sharing his journey in the industry, he said, “Aya to mein actor banne tha, director ban gaya,” he said laughing. “My journey is a long story, but I can say that a director’s job is much tough than the actor’s. The actor has to just get into his character but the director is the captain of the ship and has to manage many things along with the crew.”

Ravi Sinha is also known for his artistic perceptions that he adds in the movies. He majorly works at outdoors and rarely shoots in studios. “The real fun of film making is at outdoors. We get realism and audience enjoys it a lot. I have reikied various locations in Bhopal, majorly public places and market.” Ravi signed off saying that the shoot will start in November.
