On the one hand the government is trying to help the people by increasing the police force and equipping the force with latest techniques, so they can immediately help the common man, but the story of policing in the Bhind district is entirely different.
Sub inspector of Aswar police station Nagesh Sharma doesn't picks up the phone in the hour of need and when the villagers try to telephone at the phone number of police station and the police station has no public telephone.
When the villager contacted The Pioneer for the help late evening on Wednesday, SI Nagesh Sharma did not pick up the phone of The Pioneer correspondent and when SDOP Lahar Avneesh Bansal was contacted, he told that Aswar police station has no public phone and the villagers in need should contact dial 100 police van for help. Villagers told that the Aswar is the biggest village of Bhind district with banks, government college and hospital and Aswar police station is in the village itself located besides Lahar Sewada state highway and cops can very easily reach to the villager in just 5 minutes but if they call dial 100 police van, it will come from a long distance of around 25 kilometers which will not only take long time but it will also be the wastage of police force and diesel of police van and many of the time the dial 100 police van is engaged at some other places.
Villagers urge the government that the public telephone should be immediately set up at the Aswar police station so they can call at the police station in the hour of need.
DIG Bhind Sachin Atulkar told that it is the compulsory order of the government that a public telephone should always be active in every police station and new Bhind SP is joining on Friday. I will instruct him to see why the Aswar police station has no public telephone.
It will also be ensured that the mobile number of beat in charge policeman is displayed in every beat of the Aswar police station area so that villagers can call the police and Sub inspector Nagesh Sharma will also be instructed to pick up the phone and listen to the information of villagers and give them proper reply. We will review the public telephone of all the police stations of Bhind district, DIG added.
