The Forum of Women in Public Sector (WIPS), BHEl, Bhopal, on Friday organised its annual day function at the Cultural Hall with the theme, ‘We Women lead the World’.
The programme began with lighting of the lamp along with Saraswati Vandana. Dr Sarla Menon, Unit Coordinator, WIPS, BHEl, Bhopal welcomed the dignitaries and WIPS members. A floral welcome was given to the chief guest SR Prasad, ED, BHEl Bhopal, Neelima Prasad, President ladies Club, BHEl Bhopal, Guest of Honour Sarvesh Chaturvedi, GM (HR) and guest speaker, Aruna Mohan Rao, Additional DG, Madhya Pradesh police.
Dolly Gera, secretary, WIPS briefed about the activities of WIPS Bhopal in the year 2013-14. WIPS BHEl was awarded with the ‘Third Best Enterprise Award’ in the National Meet at Kolkata.
Sarvesh Chaturvedi, GM (HR) and presiding officer appreciated and congratulated WIPS on the steps being taken for empowering women in Public Sector. He emphasised that development and empowerment of women is possible only if we respect them. He assured to provide full support to WIPS Bhopal in all its activities related to working women.
Addl DG Aruna Mohan Rao discussed the role of women in society. She expressed her thoughts on the theme ‘We Women lead the World’ and said that women need to be given freedom and independence in order to make her empowered and scale new heights.
SR Prasad, ED, BHEl Bhopal and chief guest on the occasion congratulated WIPS on the success of this programme and various achievements of WIPS. He said that only self-management can bring change in the role of women at work place and at home.
On this occasion, an e- magzine of WIPS BHEl, Bhopal was launched by SR Prasad, ED, BHEl Bhopal.
Prizes were distributed to the winning participants of various competitions conducted throughout the year, 2013-14. A small cultural programme was also organised by the women employees. Anita Chandra, Sr DGM (Medical), gave the vote of thanks. The programme was compeered by Kokila D’souza and Namrata Jaiswal.
