Being the multi art centre of the city Bharat Bhavan would host two cultural events here on Wednesday.
A classic play Dehantar would be staged at Antrang Hall Bharat Bhavan, under the Rangmandal series of drama and theatre activities. Meanwhile, a young artist of the city Shikha Dev would put up her solo exhibition at Rangdarshini Gallery under Roopabh series of fine arts.
Dehantar, a classic play is directed by a noted theater artist Aseem Kumar Dubey and would be presented by Koshish Theatre Group, Bhopal.
Dehantar is based on the story of Yayati in the Mahabharata, who finds his old age intolerable. Then his son, Puru, offers to redeem him by accepting his father's age in exchange for his own youth. This play, based on Nand Kishore Acharya’s classic, is a memorable portrayal of the ensuing trauma.
Dehantar is an intensely poetic study of the human predicament that cannot distinguish identity from the body.
The dancing sequences in the play are being choreographed by a noted classical dancer of the city lata Singh Munshi and music is composed by Puneet Verma and Vivek Mridul.
It would be a treat for the theatre lovers of the city to watch a classic play after a long time at Antrang Hall.
On the other hand, a young artist Shikha Dev would put up the exhibition of her recent creations before the Bhopalites. A very enthusiastic and imaginative artist Shikha has wonderfully painted her imagery over canvas. The exhibition would continue till January 19.
