A ballet performance, Main Manav Hoon, was staged here on Wednesday at Antarang Hall, Bharat Bhavan. Based on the poem of Mahindra Kumar 'Manav,' Manushya Ki Gandh Mujhe Bhaati Hai, the ballet performance was choreographed by a distinguished ballet choreographer of the city Vaishali Gupta. The programme was organised by Aragya Cultural Society, Bhopal.

This poem also shares about the practicality of life and how the human behavior changes according to the life's situations. The human being somehow has to accept the life's truth and cannot run away from his destiny.

With as many as 25 artists the ballet was prepared in a month-long workshop headed by Vaishali Gupta. The ballet performance included various forms of ballet dancing style, the artists wonderfully thread each event into one another that was much enjoyed by the audience. The ballet included almost all kinds of moods portrayed together. It was all like one event happening after another. The sensible lighting and the use of live instruments like tabla, percussion, sarangi, harmonium and nagada added more zeal in the presentation. The audience enjoyed the ballet performance whole- heartedly.

While talking to The Pioneer, Vaishali said, "Ballet is a perfect art of dance. It requires strict discipline, attention, whole-hearted dedication, and love for ballet. The body has to be trained to dance with grace, elegance, and artistry. Ballet is a very lovely form of dance."

He was a not only a great poet but has been a participant in the freedom struggle. His poetry was based on different events that happened in his life and around him. Moreover, his poetry dealt with human life and behavior in different situations," she further added.
