Bharat Heavy Electricals limited (BHEl), Bhopal is celebrating Environment Awareness week from June 1 to 7. As a part of the celebration the World Environment Day was celebrated with great zeal and fervor on Thursday at Gandhi Udyan, Piplani.
A large gathering of people today planted saplings at the udyan premises and took oath to protect the tree’s from all the threats. The function was attended by all general managers’ officials of BHEl, Corporate HSE Officers and union representatives.
On June 1, large contingent of BHEl, Bhopal participated in RUN BHOPAl event organised by MP Pollution Control Board to create awareness on environment Protection. Chinta Yadav (CISF) of BHEl contingent won first prize in the Girls above 15 years category. Tree plantation was done in Kasturba Hospital, at Kshitij Bhavan and at Dipika Park. A number of awareness programmes on ill effects of polythene were also organized at Habibganj Hat, Berkhera Hat and Vijay Market. An awareness programme on ill effects of polythene was also held at Piplani Hat Gandhi Market on Thursday evening. In coming days plantation will be carried out inside factory and a slogan competition on environment protection will also be conducted. All the programmes are coordinated by Environment Management Cell. At the beginning of the week Executive Director, BHEl, Bhopal Shashi Ranjan Prasad urged all the employees to present a clean and pollution free environment to the future generations.
