A 20-year-old married woman died under mysterious circumstances at Sharda Nagar in the wee hours on Wednesday.
City Superintendent of Police Hanumanganj, Navratan Singh told that the victim got married to Amir Khan few years ago. The family members of Amir used to harass her that forced her to take the extreme step. The victim committed suicide by consuming poisonous substance at her residence and was found dead at around 5 am on Wednesday.
Victim’s husband and his family members will be charged under section 304 (B) of the IPC, he added. The police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and have started further investigation.
Meanwhile, a 70-year-old woman was mowed down by a speeding jeep at Aishbagh on Tuesday. According to the police, the victim Khatoon Bi was on her way to home when a speeding jeep hit her and escaped the spot.
The victim was a resident of Bagh Umrao Dullah under Aishbagh police station. The victim was rushed to Hamidia hospital where she succumbed to injuries. The police have registered a case under section 304 (A) of the IPC against the unidentified jeep.
