Another Congress leader hits out at party leadership

Staff Reporter

The Congress leadership continued to get teachings from party leaders of Madhya Pradesh. After senior leader and former MP Waqf board chairman Gufran-e-Azam, on Saturday, it was the turn of former Union Minister Aslam Sher Khan to hit out at the party leadership.

Targeting party high command here on Saturday, Khan also gave edification while addressing the programme of 72nd anniversary of the Quit India movement — August Kranti Diwas — at the State Congress headquarters. “The need of the time is to run the organisation like the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh,” he said.

Khan said that it is the irony that we took decisions by leaders sitting in New Delhi while in the BJP, the decisions are taken by the RSS sitting in district headquarters only. The organisational set up of the BJP is quite strong up to ground level and the organisational secretaries have been assigned to decide on several issues.

“On the contrary, in the Congress, it is totally opposite. This is for the first time, I see the Congress so weak. The major fault in the party is that our leaders hide their faults,” he added. He stated that the Congress workers need to get united and move ahead with the message of Mahatma Gandhi that he had delivered through August Kranti.

Former Minister and AICC secretary Sajjan Singh Verma stated that every Congressman has to shoulder the responsibility of making the dreams of the freedom fighters come true.

PCC chief Arun Yadav said that during quit India movement, every citizen of the country had come forward on the call of Mahatma Gandhi. “There has been proud history of Congress and we need to move ahead unitedly for taking the country on development path,” he added. Yadav felicitated freedom fighters.
