Anguish over Singrauli gang-rape

SR

The members of the Akhil Bharatiya Janvadi Mahila Samiti, Madhya Pradesh, while expressing its outrage over the Singrauli gang rape, said that this is another example of Bharatiya Janata Party’s poor governance in the State.

The State secretary of the committee, Sandhya Shelly, here on Tuesday said that the promises that are made for the security of women by BJP are not fulfilled and again a girl has faced the cruel act in Madhya Pradesh. Shelly said that such incidents raise a question over the security of women in State under BJP’s rule.

A minor girl was brutally gang-raped in a moving bus and then was thrown out on April 20 at Singrauli district. While expressing grief over the incident Shelly further said that instead of giving stringent punishment to the accused the authorities and police are pushing the victim into a more embarrassing situation.

She further alleged that the police and the doctors have been pressurized by the BJP leaders to change their statements so that they could maintain the clean reputation of Madhya Pradesh governance during the elections.

Noticeably, the accused who have brutally gang-raped the minor are the relatives of BJP MlA at Singrauli Ramlalu Bes. Shelly further said that the statement given by chairperson of State Women Commission is against the dignity of women. It seems that the State Women Commission has also stopped working for the security of women especially of teenage girls just like the government has, Shelly added. She said that the commission should work for their betterment and security.

The members of Akhil Bharatiya Janvadi Mahila Samiti, Madhya Pradesh have demanded that the police should investigate the molestation cases with implementing the Posco Act 2013. A delegation of the Janvadi Mahila Smiti would visit Singrauli on April 23 at the crime spot to investigate the case.
