All the six accused arrested on charge of rape with the Swiss woman in Datia were sent to police custody for one day here on Monday, when they were produced in the court of First Class Judicial Magistrate (JMFC) GP Garg in the evening.

Investigating officer (IO) of the case Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) RS Rawat while talking to The Pioneer said, “We have sought the remand of the accused for taking further information about the crime.”

Defence Counsel Vinod Sharma said, “The prosecution demanded 15 days police remand but we objected and successfully convinced the court that there is no need at all for that, the court agreed and granted just a day’s remand.”

Sharma further said that our objections were that my clients have been wrongfully implicated in the case and that why forensic investigation of the crime scene was not done and why the medical of the victim was not done in Datia.
