Ajay Singh demands CBI probe

SR

leader of Opposition in the state assembly Ajay Singh has demanded that the State Government should recommend Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe in the incident of rape of Swiss woman in Datia.

Singh, who staged dharna in Datia on Monday as part of the statewide agitation by Congress, also demanded that the state’s Home Minister Uma Shankar Gupta should tender resignation for his failure to prevent rising crimes against women in the state.

Sitting on dharna at Anamay Ashram in front of Datia Collectorate, Singh also targeted the Health Minister Narottam Mishra. “Mishra, who claims to be the shadow Chief Minister of Datia, is running a parallel Government here along with his brother. He has worsened the health of not only Datia but the whole state. Criminals and speculators have political protection here,” Singh alleged.

“Datia has been embarrassed because the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government has derogated the Indian tradition of atithi devo bhavah. Today, the head of Madhya Pradesh is lowered in shame in front of the whole world. Now, people will be reluctant to visit the state,” he added.

Criticizing the Chief Minister for raising hue and cry about attracting foreign investment through his foreign trips, Ajay Singh said, “Who will trust his words if the CM fails to safeguard the foreign tourists visiting the state.”

Singh also criticized the Home Minister for stating that the Swiss woman was raped due to her own mistakes.

“Such a statement is shameful. Was the eight years old dalit girl who was raped near his bungalow in Bhopal too was responsible for the incidentIJ  Or the woman who was raped in a bus in Indore was at fault for traveling in the busIJ The Home Minister has become absolutely insensitive,” he said.

“If the Chief Minister is really a brother of women and mama of theladlis in the state, he should remove the Home Minister immediately,” he demanded.

Former Home Minister Mahendra Bauddh was also present at the dharna.
