In a major milestone under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), AIIMS Bhopal has secured the second position among hospitals across India for implementing a fully paperless and queue-less OPD registration system. The ranking, released by the National Health Authority (NHA) of the Government of India, highlights AIIMS Bhopal’s success in generating over 1.45 million OPD tokens through the innovative ‘Scan and Share’ service.

AIIMS New Delhi holds the top position in the national list.

The 'Scan and Share' system offers significant convenience for patients by eliminating the need to stand in long queues at hospital registration counters. Patients can simply scan a QR code displayed within the hospital premises using their smartphones, following which an OPD token is generated instantly. The system has not only streamlined hospital workflows but also reduced waiting times and overcrowding, creating a more efficient and patient-friendly experience.

Expressing his pride in the institute’s achievement, Prof. Ajai Singh, Executive Director of AIIMS Bhopal, said, “This is a moment of pride for AIIMS Bhopal and a reflection of our commitment to digital transformation in healthcare. The ‘Scan and Share’ service has simplified the registration process and significantly improved the patient experience. Securing the second rank nationally is a result of the dedication and technological adaptability.
