Department of Pathology and Lab Medicine AIIMS Bhopal organized a Symposium on "Point of Care Testing in Healthcare " on 28.10.2022. More than 75 delegates attended the symposium from Bhopal and nearby districts.
Point of Care tests are those investigations which can be done on patient bedside or even OPD and the reports are immediately available.
The symposium was inaugurated by The Executive Director of AIIMS Bhopal Prof (Dr) Ajai Singh. He spoke about the immense possibilities of POCT without compromising on the quality of the report. He expressed his commitment on behalf of AIIMS Bhopal to support all new innovations.
Head of the deptt Pathology and Lab Medicine AIIMS Bhopal Dr Prof Neelkamal Kapoor spoke about the need for balance between the diagnosticians and clinicians in the best interest of the patients.
The guest speakers from Mumbai Dr Rupa Vishwanath Aiyer and Dr Shahnaz Ansari discussed in detail about the available equipments and their working principle.
An animated panel discussion by cardiothoracic surgeon Dr Yogesh Niwaria, anesthetist Dr Sunaina Tejpal, pediatricians Dr Bhawna Dheengra Bhan & Dr Girish Bhatt and Pathologist Dr Deepti Joshi discussed real life scenarios, where point of Care testing methods can be used optimally.
