The Aghan Mela is attracting the shoppers of the city as they are finding all the trendy and fashionable outfits at the fair. The fair which is being put up at Bhopal Haat, had begun on Tuesday.
The fair showcases a collection of cotton outfits in trend. Not only this, the shopaholics are also enjoying the new arrivals in handloom and handicraft stuff being displayed at the fair.The Bhopalites are having fun in exploring the colourful and fizzy shades of the State at the fair. Other than the most renowned dress materials of the State i.e. Chanderi and Maheshwari, one could find a huge collection of handloom materials made up of jute, paper-mache and much more.
The majority of shoppers include women of Bhopal, who are buying stuff for their houses. They are not only buying decorative and household items but, imitation jewellery for themselves.Interestingly, the buyers can have a look at the enchanting handmade jewellery which is rarely seen in markets or at any other place.
Dress materials like, lucknowi chicken, mulberry silk and more could be explored at the mela. One could find a wonderful collection been designed in different patterns and prints. Beautifully embroidered fabric with Batik Print, Dabu Print, Hand-Block Print, and one of the most renowned and loved in all seasons, Bagh Print can also be seen.
A variety of decorative items like rugs, carpets, metal crafts, bamboo showpieces and sculptures of metal are also on display.Notably, such fairs are organised not just for the people to enjoy shopping from various States but also provides a platform to the Self Help Groups (SHGs) working in different parts of the country. The fair will continue till November 15.
