The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has claimed that under its mounting pressure the administration was forced to immediately solve the case related to the case of sexual harassment with a three-year-old girl.

The incident was reported on August 24 at Ramshree International School. The next day, the AAP activists had reached the school premises and started dharna. They shouted slogans against the school management and the administration.

The police have now arrested the bus driver Deewan Singh Gujjar within 48 hours of the incident and also arrested School Director Pawan Gupta and Coordinator Indu Patankar for delay in taking action in the incident despite having intimated in time by victim’s parents.

State convenor of the AAP Alok Agrawal told media persons that with the arrest of the school management and the accused driver, the AAP called off its agitation that continued for three days.

Agrawal demanded that even after having arrested all the accused in the case, the police and administration still need to take action against the hospital authorities that did not take the case seriously, when the victim was taken there for medical examination. The administration has also been asked that the recognition of the school should be cancelled, as the school management was not serious towards the safety of children. However, no action has been taken against the school till date.

Official sources said that a committee has been formed to look into the matter and it would decide as how the school’s recognition could be cancelled as the future of the present students would be affected if the school is closed down in mid-term.
