A delegation of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders of the state called on Madhya Pradesh Governor Ram Naresh Yadav and asked him to disqualify 118 members of state Assembly who are allegedly holding offices of profit.
The AAP leaders also demanded resignation from MP Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan claiming that if the 118 MlAs are disqualified, the BJP government led by Shivraj Singh Chouhan will be reduced to minority.
The delegation of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders handed over a written complaint to Yadav here on Monday against 118 MlAs under articles 191 (1) and 192 of the Constitution and the Representation of the People Act 1951.
AAP state secretary Akshay Hunka soon after submitting complaint to the governor told the media persons outside the governor house, “Of the 118 MlAs,
116 are member of public participatory committee of colleges which comes under office of profit.”
Hunka further said “Two ministers of the Shivraj Singh Chouhan led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government of the state Paras Jain and Deepak Joshi hold the office of profit by virtue of being the office bearers of Indian Scout and Guide.”
AAP Madhya Pradesh convener Alok Agarwal said, “118 MlAs of the state legislative Assembly are holding the offices of profit and according to the provisions of Representation of People's Act, they should be disqualified from the House.”
Agarwal further said if these members holding the offices of profit are disqualified, the BJP government led by Shivraj Singh Chouhan will be reduced to minority, hence the Chief Minister should resign.
The delegation that met Governor included Agrawal, Hunka and state AAP spokespersons Neha Bagga, D Jain and Amit Bhatnagar.
