Citizens of several cities in different States including Madhya Pradesh have been receiving calls from +93729864241 mobile number from Afghanistan. The number has been saved as Terrorist on Truecaller.
IG Sanjeev Shami said that it is a kind of ‘fishing call’ which is made from proxy server which is a collect call and if receiver receives the call, balance deducts from his account and the same is applicable for those who do not disconnect and call completes as a miss call.
Shami said that these calls have been received by journalist, politicians, officials of police and administration and common citizens and someone has saved the number as ‘Terrorist’ in Truecaller caller ID Android Application due to which the Truecaller provides the details of the incoming call as ‘Terrorist’ and several other mobile application like Truecaller provides the number as Afghanistan.
Such types of ‘Fishing call’ are not related with PM Narendra Modi’s visit to the city, he clarified.
