A 70-year old woman died after she was hit by a speeding vehicle at B- Sector of Ratnagiri under Piplani police station area on Tuesday. According to police, Tulsa Bai was on her way to home in Ratnagiri at around 4.30 pm when a speeding motorbike hit her and escaped the spot.
The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was admitted in a critical condition as she sustained serious injuries and was bleeding profusely. later during the treatment she succumbed to her injuries late in the evening. After the preliminary investigation by cops the body was sent for post mortem.
The commuters and locals who rushed to her help were able to notice the registration number of the motorbike and in the investigation they provided that detail. The motorbike which hit the victim was bearing registration number MP04 -MV- 7764.
The police have registered a case under section 304 A of the IPC and have started further investigation in the matter. Police said that based on the details of the motorbike, the miscreants would be searched. It is possible that the accused might have tried to rob Bai but failed and tried to escape after hitting her. Police said they think this is a possibility and would also be considered for investigation. The victim was a resident of B-sector of 100 quarters area and met with the accident when she was walking back to home in the evening.
