Under solar photo voltaic programme, 5,000 solar streetlights will be installed in Madhya Pradesh this year. During last year 2012-13, as many as 3,700 solar home lights model-2 and 5,000 streetlights were installed.
At present, there is a provision to pay Rs 5,870 against plant cost or 30 per cent of total cost, whichever is less at the rate of Rs 81 per peak watt under the programme.
The State Government also provides subsidy worth Rs 10,000 on setting up of a plant sanctioned by the Union Government.
