Nishatpura police have nabbed two miscreants involved in robbery of gold chain from a woman in front of V Mart at Bhanpur on November 4 and recovered gold chain worth Rs 55,000 and motorbike used in the crime on Wednesday.
Police said that during the investigation the miscreants were tracked and were identified as Majid Shah (19) and Salman alias Kaifi Khan (25) of Nishatpura.
The accused hold crime record. Majid has been booked by Koh-e-Fiza, Gandhi Nagar and Nishatpura police stations for robbery, assault and possession of weapons illegally.
Salman has been booked by Nishatpura and Teelajamalpura police stations for robbery, burglary and possession of weapons illegally.
During the investigation police tracked the motorbike used in the robbery and details of the bike are under investigation.
Acting on a tip off regarding youth involved in the robbery police team nabbed Salman with the bike used in the robbery and when he was quizzed he confessed that he had targeted a woman at V Mart and escaped with gold chain along with his aide Majid.
Based on the information Majid was tracked and arrested. From their possession police have recovered the robbed gold chain worth Rs 55,000 and bike.
The Modus Operandi of the accused was to target lone woman carrying purse and mobile phone.
In the further investigation more crimes would be revealed from the three accused. Majid is a habitual offender of Nishapura area and has been arrested for three cases of assault and threatening of life.
