A 31-year-old woman died after she was hit by a train near Habibganj railway station late in the evening on Monday; woman alighted off the train which was halted near Habibganj railway station to reach platform.
Police said the deceased has been identified as Shivali Prajapati of Awadhpuri. According to police the woman alighted off the train near Habibganj under bridge, as the train halted and she opted to alight off and cross the tracks but failed to spot train on the next track and which hit her leaving her dead.
The incident took place at around 10 pm. She was rushed to JP hospital where she was declared dead. During the investigation police found that the deceased failed to find her way across the tracks and met accident.
The deceased was posted as clerk in SBI Hoshangabad and would visit Bhopal to meet family. Meanwhile a 18-year-old youth was electrocuted while filling water in air cooler at his house in Binapura under Eithkhedi police station area on Monday. According to police, the deceased Rajkumar Namdev, was electrocuted after she came into contact with live wires of air cooler in the afternoon on Monday and was rushed to a nearby hospital where he died during treatment. Police were informed and on the receipt of the information, a police team reached the spot and started investigation. The police have registered a case under section 174 of the IPC.
