Three persons including a coach attendant were nabbed by the GRP police for consumption of alcohol after information was shared with GRP Helpline on Sunday in Bengaluru bound Rajdhani express. GRP Bhopal police acting swiftly on the uploaded video of passengers consuming alcohol nabbed the two passengers and the coach attendant who provided the liquor to the passengers.

The two passengers were identified as Kotarappa and Ishwarappa while the coach attendant was identified as Umashankar. Police said that the incident occurred in Bengaluru bound Rajdhani express. In the train the two passengers contacted the coach attendant who provided the liquor but while the whole process was going on a passenger made video of the liquor consumption and later uploaded the same video on Youtube and shared the link with GRP Helpline.

The GRP helpline was started few days back to provide immediate assistance to the passengers. The concept came into existence after Rati Tripathi incidence in which she was thrown out of a speeding train by miscreants. Unfortunately the person who recorded the act deleted the video to evade involvement in legal proceedings and interestingly GRP Helpline is not devised to record such video at the instance.

The three were booked under section 34 of the Excise Act. The two were requested not to drink liquor by the passengers who were sitting at the adjacent seat but they continued to drink but later were nabbed by GRP Bhopal.  Information was shared with GRP Helpline at around 8.30 pm when the train was near Budni and when the train reached Bhopal the three were nabbed.
