With the changing time, the scenario of theatre has also changed. There is a vital role of costumes and makeup in theatre nowadays, informed Tripti Tripathi secretary of Jawahar Bal Bhavan.
A three-day workshop on costumes in theatre is being organised at Jawahar Bal Bhavan. The workshop is being held at Jawahar Bal Bhavan premises. It began from Tuesday and will continue till Thursday wherein the participants are learning dos’ and don’ts of theatre costume design.
The renowned theatre artist of the city Vibha Shrivastava is conducting the workshop. She will tell the participants about the importance of costumes in theatre. The workshop is being conducted for the participants of theatre classes.
While informing about the workshop, Tripti Tripathi said that during the workshop the participants will enhance their knowledge about the subject.
On the other hand, Vibha Shrivastava said that in today’s time the main focus is not only on the acting part, but the presentation is equally important to impress the audience.
The participants are being told about the choice of costume according to the character. Vibha also told the participants about various costumes that are used in theatres. Besides, Sanghmitra Bankar told them about how to carry the costumes while on stage.
Here on Wednesday, the participants of theatre classes were told about how to choose the costume accordingly. Sanghmitra also emphasized on which character looks best with what costume on stage. The participants also wore costumes from mythological plays to understand it better.
