The three-day-long ‘Decade Celebration’ of Billabong High Bhopal, which began from Friday culminated on Sunday with the enactment of Broadway Musical.

It was a groundbreaking event in more ways than one. It was the first time that Broadway Musical was performed in Bhopal. The entire act was conceived, scripted and directed by the High school students of Billabong.

The medium was chosen by students as they wanted a platform to express all the creativity, imagination, histrionics, dance, and music skills imbibed by them.

The entire act was extremely well knitted and flowed smoothly like the musical notes of orchestra made by a maestro. It was an intoxicating cocktail of brilliant theatre performances interpreted with evocative music and feet tapping numbers. The world class stage setting, props and costumes made the show spectacular and a musical feast.

Even though it was a novel experiment in entertainment, it was warmly received by audience. And was yet another example of Billabong philosophy of doing things differently. Its tradition of creating benchmarks as the aim is to create a purpose for learning and allow children to be thinkers, innovators and problem solvers and to orchestrate experiences that will result in a natural and integrated development of knowledge, skills and thinking.

The Broadway musical was preceded by a tribute to Shakespeare, where three short scenes were enacted from his plays – Julius Ceaser, Merchant of Venice and Twelfth Night.

Billabong acknowledged the contribution of its old associates - Colonel Jairath and Archana Zulfikar. lina Ashar, Director KKEl graced the occasion as chief guest.

Sujata lakhani, Principal of the school said, “Billabong is life and we are all living and enjoying every moment of it.”
