Chalo booth ki oar’ (move towards booths), no longer remains a slogan, but has become volition of every Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) worker, said Madhya Pradesh BJP’s organisational general secretary Arvind Menon in Vidisha, while reviewing the preparations of the three-day mega membership drive to be started from Friday.
Menon said, “The intensive membership drive is a challenge and chance for the workers. Factually, the mega membership drive besides being an opportunity for the geographical development of the party is a chance to make family oriented affective relations with the masses.” Menon further said that the party renews membership in every six years and new members are also made. Hence, it is an opportunity for the BJP workers to increase their own acceptance by establishing dialogue for membership with the people because in democracy, people, power and support is very important, he added.
He said that the workers would come forward with a call for making a strong BJP and strong India. By keeping the voters list with them, they would knock the door of every voter. This is an opportunity to meet every voter of our polling area. We need to complete this work with pious sense. This is what the national leadership want us to do and this is the mission of the party, he added.
He said that there were 3.25 crore members of the party in the country before launching of the mega membership drive, but the party fixed target of 10 crore members for 2015 and till now, it has already crossed over 50 per cent target. The specialty of the BJP is that it is members-based party and the workers are its axis, he added.
