A 28-year-old man was found dead under suspicious circumstances near Karbala Pump House under Koh-e-Fiza police station area on Wednesday.
Police said the deceased identified as Raja alias Rajesh was found dead by commuters at around 10 am near Karbala pump house. After preliminary investigation it was established that he went missing since Tuesday and police suspected that he might commit suicide but other possibilities like accidental death or murder cannot be ruled out.
A police officer investigating the case said the reason of the death could be revealed after full investigation. The police have registered a case under Section 174 of the CrPC and have started further investigation. Meanwhile, an unidentified man also found dead under suspicious circumstances at Sheetal Das ki Bagia under Shymala Hills police station area on Wednesday.
The man in the age group of 35-40 years was found in the morning at Sheetal Das ki Bagia. Police said that according to the clothes the deceased might belong to a well-to-do family but nothing was found from the body which could help establishing his identity. Condition in which the body was recovered suggested that the man might die accidentally and also it was possible that the victim had removed his clothes and went into the water but slipped and drowned later.
Police have registered a case under Section 174 of the CrPC and have started further investigation.
