A 27-year old youth was found brutally murdered by unknown miscreants at Jamboree ground under Piplani police station area in the morning hours on Thursday.
Police said the body of the youth, identified later as Chandan Kahar, was hacked by smashing with rock and other heavy weapons on his head. The victim used to work as labourer and was missing from Wednesday night.
According to police the incident came to know when the local spotted youth in a unconscious state and immediately informed the police.
Police suspected that the deceased was killed by smashing his head or he might probably kill and later smashed the head, so that he could not be identified.
The circumstantial evidences suggest that the victim struggled to escape but the miscreants overpowered and killed him.
The brother-in-law of the deceased identified him and told the police that deceased was a resident of Satnami Nagar and the family were searching for him from Wednesday night after he went missing.
Family members claimed that the victim had gone for some work walk and never returned.
The police found empty liquor bottles from the spot where the body was found in the morning hours. Old enmity could not be ruled out as the deceased was offered to drink and later killed in an inebriated state.
Based on the information police have detained few people for questioning. The police have registered a case under section 302 of the IPC and have started further investigation.
