A 25-year-old woman committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling at her house in Laharpur under Katara Hills police station area on Tuesday.
Police said that the deceased Shruti Rangare was found hanging with the ceiling by her mother and was rushed to AIIMS hospital where she was declared dead.
The deceased used to live with her mother and was preparing for competitive exams.
During the investigation police have not found any reason behind the suicide and no suicide note was recovered from the spot which could help in the revealing the reason behind the suicide.
The reason behind the suicide would be investigated. The father of the deceased work in Raipur while brother works in Delhi.
The mother of the deceased told the police that Shruti returned in the evening and went inside her room and when she stayed in the room for long her mother went to check her and found her hanging.
Later with the help of neighbours she was rushed to hospital where she was declared dead.
The deceased was a contractual worker with Housing Board but left the job few days ago.
In the afternoon she went to meet someone and after return she committed suicide.
It is possible that something had happened with the deceased when she had gone to meet in the afternoon, said police.
After the preliminary investigation the body was sent for the post mortem and a case under section 174 of the CrPC. Police have started further investigation.
