TT Nagar police on Monday booked a 25-year-old woman of Chhindwara on the charge of abandoning a newborn (only 10-hour-old) baby girl behind Deepshikha school. The girl was recovered in wounded condition late on Sunday night.
late night on Sunday locals near Deepshika School found the baby and after spotting her, the locals rushed to a nearby hospital where her condition is reportedly critical.
The accused has confirmed that she was cheated by her boyfriend. She got pregnant but before she could terminate the pregnancy it crossed the normal abortion time which forced her to visit Bhopal around a month ago at her sister's house who could help her getting rid of the child. On Sunday she delivered a baby girl and her sister disposed of the girl near Deepshikha School where she works as a cook.
The locals, after hearing cries of the baby searched in the surroundings and found a baby and rushed her to hospital and informed the police.
later her condition worsened in the lack of medical assistance and went ill and she was rushed to JP hospital where the hospital management informed the police.
On the receipt of the information a police team reached the spot and when the woman and her sister were questioned they accepted to have committed the crime. The police have registered a case under section 317 of the IPC and have started further investigation. Police have not confirmed that the woman has been traced. However, she has not been arrested.
