Bajaria police on Sunday arrested a 24-year-old youth and registered a case for allegedly sexually assaulting and intimidation of a minor at Chandbad on Saturday. The accused Sanju Ahirvar was arrested after a complaint was lodged by the victim with the Bajaria police.
Police said both the accused and victims live in the same locality. On Saturday, Sanju came to the victim’s house and requested for a help at his house. Unaware of the ill intentions the naive victim came and entered Ahirvar’s house. After entering the house the accused pounced on the victim and sexually assaulted her.
After committing the heinous crime the accused threatened her with dire consequence if the victim informed to her family and police about the incident. But the undaunted victim informed the incident to the family. The victim along with the family members lodged a complaint with the Bajaria police. A police officer further informed that as both the victim and accused used to live in the same locality they were acquainted with each other and the accused used to visit victim’s house but in the presence of his family members. On the day of incident he was aware that the victim was alone and took advantage of the situation.
After the preliminary investigation a case under Section 376, 506 of the IPC and Sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences act 2012 were also imposed. The accused was produced in the court and was sent under judicial custody.
