A 22-year-old youth committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling at Ganga Palace Hotel under Kotwali police station area late night on Wednesday. Before taking this extreme step, the decease informed his friend that he would end his life by hanging.
According to the police victim Vishal Chhabria was found dead in room no 206 of the Ganga Palace Hotel, where his worked as receptionist. The incident probably took place half an ago, when it came to light at around 2 o’clock in the night. Before committing suicide, the victim contacted his friend Jitendra over mobile phone and told him that he is going to commit suicide by hanging from the ceiling. Jitendra informed the hotel manager Sharif Khan and when the two reached the room, they found that the room was locked from inside and when it was opened the victim was found hanging.
The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead. Police were informed about the suicide and after the preliminary investigation the body was sent for post mortem and the police have registered a case under Section 174 of the CrPC. Victim used to work as a receptionist at the hotel. Earlier he used to work in the same hotel as sanitation worker and few months ago he was promoted as a receptionist.
The staff members and friend who was contacted by the victim are yet to be questioned. Family members have not provided any reason which could have forced the victim to take extreme step. The police have started investigation and the reason which forced the victim to take extreme step would be investigated.
