Teelajamalpura police have booked a 22-year-old youth for killing his 21-year-old wife at Putlighar; deceased was beaten to death on Saturday.
On Saturday the deceased Rashida was rushed to hospital where she was provided treatment and later when she was brought back she died at home.
SHO Teelajamlapur PL Chouhan said that in the initial investigation police found that the accused works as driver and cleaner and is a habitual drinker, accused used to fight with his wife and deceased frequently on pretty issues. Police have not found any details of dowry or fights raised by suspecting illicit relationship.
The accused is yet to be arrested as after he received information of death of his wife he went missing and is still at large, he added.
The deceased was beaten brutally which caused his death. The accused hit the deceased in her stomach which proved fatal for her.
Police said that the deceased was suffering from illness and was feeble from the disease and when she was assaulted she failed to bear the beating and succumbed to the injuries.
Body was sent for the post mortem after the preliminary investigation and a case under section 302 of the IPC was registered.
Police have started search for the absconding killer.
The accused do not holds any crime record and possibility of his having illicit relationship would be investigated in the further investigation. At the time of the incident accused was in an inebriated state or not could not be ascertained.
