A 22-year-old youth, who was beaten brutally by five persons on Saturday suspecting disconnecting of power supply line at Godermau under Gandhi Nagar police station area, succumbed to injuries on Monday. The police have started search for the killers.
According to the police, the deceased Raju Malviya was attacked by his neighbours suspecting that he disconnected power supply line by rods and sharp edged weapons. The injured victim was rushed to a nearby hospital where he died late in the night on Sunday. .
Police said that the main accused Rafeeq who is Raju’s neighbor had a fight earlier and on Saturday when he found that the wire of main power supply line was disconnected he started to abuse Raju and when he opposed Rafeeq, his son, son-in-law Shanu, Balla and one more attacked him after dragging him out of his house. Before leaving the deceased in a pool of blood the accused warned the neighbours not to report the incident. Injured Raju was rushed to Hamidia hospital where he condition remained critical and he died late in the evening on Sunday.
After the murder panic prevailed in the area and even at the time of the incident family members of the deceased feared to save him and remained inside the house. Body was sent for the post mortem after the preliminary investigation the police have registered a case under section 302 of the IPC and have started further investigation. Police have raided few places to nab the accused but failed to arrest the accused.
