A 22-year-old newly-married youth was found dead under suspicious circumstances in a well at Sanawari village under Berasia police station area on Friday.

According to the police, a body was found in a well in Sanawari village, which was later fished out. The deceased was identified as Adesh Giri, who was missing since the day he got married, on May 3. He was resident of Sanawari village.

During the investigation, it was found that a stone was tied to his waist, which suggests other possibilities apart from suicide. The deceased was pushed into the well or he lost his balance and accidentally, fell into the well are the other possibilities.

Police said that it is possible that the deceased was kidnapped and later, pushed into the well. Family members would be questioned, which would help in revealing the reason behind the death of the deceased.

Circumstantial evidence suggest that the deceased was killed, but establishing death as murder is not possible at the moment and would be investigated.

A complaint was lodged by the family after the deceased went missing on the day of his marriage and on the same day at around 10 pm, he was last spotted by the family speaking over mobile phone and after which, he never returned.

The body got swollen and was hard to identify, but the family members identified the deceased. The body is around four to five-days-old, which suggest that the deceased died on the same day when he went missing.

The police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and have started further investigation.
