A 21-year-old miscreant who had robbed a couple at knifepoint was nabbed from Indore by the district police on Wednesday and jewellery and cash were recovered from his possession.
According to the police, on June 17 Kailash Kumar Dhakad along with his wife arrived in the city and rented a room in Capital Hotel under Mangalwara police station.
On the same day, the accused posing as waiter of the hotel knocked the door and when the victim opened the door he forcefully entered the room and closed the door and windows. He then pulled a knife and threatened the couple not to raise alarm and took away their valuables. Interestingly, before the accused left he revealed his name Bhaiyu.
After the miscreant escaped the victim informed the hotel management regarding the robbery and subsequently a complaint was lodged with the Mangalwara police.After the preliminary investigation a case against the unidentified miscreant was lodged and search for the miscreant was lodged.
The details provided by the victim and other evidences collected from the hotel it was suspected that the accused is from Indore and he would be Bhaiyu alias Ehsan who is habitual criminal after which a police team was dispatched to Indore and they were successful in searching the accused.
The accused was brought back to the city and during interrogation he confessed to the crime. Police said that it is possible that the accused might reveal more robberies during investigation.
