A 21-year-old youth committed sucide by jumping into a well in the Rahul Nagar area late in the night on Saturday; the youth returned home at around 3 in the night and called his brother outside the house and jumped into the well.
Kamalanagar area police have started investigation into the matter which seems to be a case of suicide said police after the preliminary investigation.
The youth identified as Abhisek Lohat went to his elder brother's house and called him and jumped in a well near Sharda mandir.
On reaching the spot, the police fished out the youth with the help of divers of the municipal corporation and was taken to the hospital where doctors declared him dead.
TI Anil Bajpai said that Balram Lohat son of Abhishek Lohat a resident of Rahul Nagar used to work as a labourer. On the night on Saturday around 3 in the night he went to elder brother Shivam's house and called him from outside and when Shiva came out, Abhishek jumped into the well next to the Sarada temple.
Shivam said Abhishek used to live at home. Sometimes he used to work. He used to drink alcohol daily. Why did he take this step is not clear.
