Alliance Française de Bhopal, the Indo-French Cultural Centre, is organising an exhibition of paintings ‘Introspection’ by Indore based artist Sumit Shinde. The exhibition will begin here on Wednesday at Alliance Francaise art gallery.

The exhibition will be inaugurated by Rahul Rastogi, Director of Bhojpuri Kala Academy, Bhopal and Deputy Director of Ustad Allauddin Khan Sangeet and Kala Academy, Bhopal. The exhibition shall be on view till October 18.

While talking about the exhibition, Sunil said, “Introspection is not just the title of my show. It is a feeling, a visual representation of my mind’s state when I paint. It’s an impression of my thoughts. It’s like exploring a new zenith. My expedition of abstract paintings started from some unique forms of “Mapping and Drawing”, the forms which I used to make during my studies of interior designing. I feel myself as a mirror of these forms. They are somewhere in my subconscious mind. This is how I visualised these.”

He also said, “The way we see landscape from top view, we can see only patterns, forms, and colours. I tried to unveil the beauty of those geometrical forms through my paintings.  In my colorful journey, I have learned so many forms of paintings.  My vision is being to use them artistically. With the years of continuous development, I have got my own style of art. I always try to paint different views on a single surface. So I compose my canvas and divide it with awesome colours and textures.”
