‘temp Increase may give rise to dengue cases’
Bhopal: Public Health and Family Welfare Department has alerted all departments that increase in temperature might also give rise to causes of dengue. For this, necessary measures should be ensured from right now. Principal Secretary Health Praveer Krishna has urged people to burn old Khus pads of coolers during ensuing Holika Dahan. The PS said that it is necessary to keep water vessels covered, use mosquito nets and destroy Khus pads in which mosquitoes and larvae thrive. Dengue larvae multiply if Khus pads or grills of coolers not changed and water stagnates in old tyres, flowerpots etc. Uncovered water tanks are also major cause of dengue. Dengue spreads through mosquitoes of fresh water. Directives have been given to all districts to remain alert and educate and enlighten people on the issue. It is noteworthy that large-scale efforts were made last year to create awareness among people for dengue control. Non-government organisations had also made joint efforts in this regard. All medicines and sprays for controlling dengue, malaria and other vector-borne diseases are available in the State. Directives have also been given to activate in-charge sector doctors for review at village-level. About 5,000 sector in-charge doctors are working at present in the State.
