Nobel Memorial Quiz TO BE HElD ON Sept 17
Indore: The Sweden-India Nobel Memorial Quiz will be held at IIM Indore on September 17 this month. The quiz will be organized by the as a part of the Sweden India Nobel Memorial Week — now in its eighth year. The quiz is open to all Indian students currently enrolled at a college or university in India. Students are required to form teams of 3 members each in order to participate. All members of a team must be from the same institution.
PMT scam: veterinary doc, MBBS student held
Indore: A veterinary doctor and a MBBS student were arrested by SIT in PMT scam from Jaunpur UP. It is being said that both the accused had appeared in the PMT examination for two students in a fraudulent manner in 2011. The accused identified as DP Yadav, a veterinary doctor and Brajesh Jaiswal, who is pursuing MBBS from Gorakhpur. The duo managed Satyendra and Dhreendra Verma to attend PMT examination through fraudulent means and secured admission for other two people in lieu of them. DP Yadav and Brajendra Jaiswal are connected with Mohansing Thakur gang, police sources informed here on Wednesday.
‘Cell phones may trigger brain tumour’
Indore: Cell phones which have become an indispensable part of modern-day life with currently over 90 crore Indians owning this, may trigger brain tumour if used for more than 24 minutes a day, said Dr Girish Kumar, Prof at IIT-Bombay, Department of Electrical Engineering here on Wednesday. He said that besides mobile phones, the radiations of mobile towers are equally hazardous for those who are living in its vicinity.
plAN TO regularisE daily wagers SUBMITTED
Bhopal: BMC Commissioner Tejaswi S Naik has submitted a proposal regarding regularisation of 89 daily wagers who are continuously serving in the corporation for more than 10 years, to the Principal Secretary Urban Administration and Development and Housing Environment Department. In the proposal submitted to the government Naik has said that as per GAD rules framed on May 16, 2007, as on April 10 2006 those dailywagers completed 10 years continuously, shall be regularized.
